blog 6

This week, to be honest I did not do anything major to help keep the environment clean except for throwing my trash in the garbage instead of on the streets like most New Yorkers do. However next week, since my mother saves her trash cans, I am going to Path Mart to recycle the cans that we save in our house which is alot of cans. My mother has this thing for not throwing cans in the trash of where we keep our food. I guess I need to fallow her more often

Museum of American History

Justin Henderson
Museum Blog

On the trip to the museum of American National History, me, La’Relle, and Richelle we discovered a lot of new information about the environment and global warming. Global warming is a major problem that can effect our environment and our lives if we do not act in time to prevent it. Here is some of the information that my partners and I have retrieved from the museum.

Ozone: A stratosphere story
At the earth’s surface, ozone is a pollutant, but its presence in the stratosphere is critical in protecting life. Formed by a complex chain of reactions, ozone absorbs harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun, preventing it from reaching the earth’s surface. Stratospheric ozne is increasingly being destroyed by man-made pollutants.

Carbon dioxide and Global Warming

The amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere is related to global temperature: as the earth warms, CO2 increases & vice versa. Measuring CO2 in ice cores provides a record of atmospheric CO2 variation over thousands of years-from one glacial period to another. By tracking the natural variability of CO2, scientists have discovered that the recent rise in atmospheric CO2 has been caused by human activities

My Personal Items

Well I am human just like you so of course I use personal items on a daily bases.. But lets just see how Many of these items are recycable. Well I have to Brush my teeth so I use a toothbrush.. But I don' think that its recycable. I brush my hair daily however I hope that it isn't recycable because who wants to share a hair brush eww. I also use metrocards for the trains. Now metrocards are definalty recycable and can be reused often. Well clothes are an item. But I can't say that I had the chance to recycle my old clothing, but I will devintaly get a chance to. It eat and food is an item and I always recycle my soda cans and bean cans.

Assignment 3

The environment is a very important factor in or lives considering the fact that we live in it. I have recenlty researched the problems that we have on the environment and how we can recycle to help fight environmental pollution. A person named Garth Turner a member of the parliment for Halton, Canada wrote a book called The Citizens Guide to a Better Environment.... Here is his opening Paragraph

Why I wrote this Guide

All of us care about the environment-we have to. The future of our children, our country and our planet depend very much on the decisions made today.
Government has a role in this, and so does business-from huge oil companies sending tankers down the coastline to the corner drycleaners with cans of solvents. But so do you and I, our families and the communities we live in.
I strongly believe we all have a role to play. I know that in our everyday lives there are things we can do. At the time, they may seem to be tiny, but if we all did them, the results could be amazing.
This booklet is my small contribution to the cause. In writing it I wanted to show how our everyday lives can be structured to be positive, not polluting.
I wrote the first version of this booklet back in 1991, when global warming was just an unproven theory and before we witnessed steamy summers, polar ice cap melting or the frightening prospect of electricity brownouts due to airconditioning overload. After being an MP then, I went on to join the national board of the Sierra Legal Defence Fund, a group dedicated to upholding and improving laws protecting our environment.
Today I am an MP again, working to do what I can to help this world and all the creatures we share it with. Distributing this information is a part of that – since if we all did a little, we would accomplish a staggering amount. Let’s start now. Our Canada, and our planet, are worth it.

My Impact on the environment

I come from a place where people take life for granted. A place where success is something that people do not tend to achieve. Were I come from, the only way to survive is to hustle or steal. Kids at the age of 13 are starting to drop out of junior high. But this isn’t me. I’m the person trying to make it out of this place. I’m the person striving for success and trying to be something in life. Everyday I get up in the morning and get ready for school, and when I walk out the door to the bus stop, I can see all the children, and teenagers looking at me. At first they thought that it was a joke that I was going to school, being the only idiot pass 18 to be in college. They thought that I was a fool for trying to make it out of here. Some even envy me because they thought that I was better than them. But as time grew by, they started to see something different. They started to see that I wasn’t born so that I can grow up and waist time. As to came alone people started to respect me and what I was doing. They all showed me the respect that I am a college student and that I want to get out of this place. And as time grew by, people wanted to go back to school as well. Because of my leadership, 6 of my friends decided to go back to high school and get their diploma. And others want to apply for the same college I go to… That is the impact I made on my environment..

Essay 1.1

Hi everybody, my name is Justin Henderson. I am a 19 years old, African American male. I am currently attending LaGuardia Community College. I live in the Bronx with my mother Sharon Henderson, my father Lee Henderson, and my younger annoying sister Danielle Henderson. Ever since I was a little kid, I always admire the amazing Spider-Man super hero and up to this day, I am still a die hard Spider-Man fan. I also enjoy playing sports such as basketball, football, and baseball. My favorite team of all time is the NBA’s New York Knicks, even though they haven’t won the championship in about 15 years. My hobbies are also playing video games, filming, and just hanging out with friends and family.
My goal in life is something that everyone wants to achieve and that is to be successful. I want to pursue a career in video filming, or directing. If somehow that does not work out, I always wanted to become a police officer. I would also like to travel around the world, and see the historical places of the Bible. My religion is Christianity, and I would love to visit the places of Jerusalem, and Egypt. But besides being a person striving for success, I am the guy who is pretty much laid back, and mellow. I mean I go to clubs; I love to go to 42nd street just to see the lights and celebrities, and basically love what every man loves, women.
I also love to listen to hip-hop artist such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Nas. However hip-hop isn’t the only genre I listen to. I also enjoy jazz, rock, and R&B. Now even though I have a goal, I also have a dream. And that is to live the good life in an expensive Mansion, my wife Megan Good, with 13 cars. Hey a man can dream!
Finally, before I leave you, I would like to say that everyone should live their life to the fullest because you’ll never know when your going to take your last breathe.
